Effect of Happiness Education During the Covid-19 Epidemic on Reducing Burnout in Faculty Members of Physical Education Departments

Abstract
The aim of this study was to the effect of happiness education during the Covid-19 epidemic on reducing burnout in faculty members of physical education departments of the Islamic Azad University of Zanjan province.The statistical population of the present study was male faculty members with more than 15 years of experience in the Islamic Azad University of Zanjan province, of which 40 were selected as available subjects using available and purposive sampling methods and randomly divided into two groups of 20 experimenters. And control was placed, then group happiness training based on the happiness training protocol by Fordyce methodological-behavioral method was performed in 8 sessions of 90 minutes in groups and once a week online. Before and after the intervention, the subjects' burnout rate was assessed using the Maslash and Jackson burnout questionnaire. Independent t-test and paired t-test were used to analyze the data. Findings showed that Fordyce-style happiness training has a significant effect on the dimensions of emotional fatigue, metamorphosis, feeling of self-sufficiency, as well as the overall dimensions of burnout in faculty members of physical education groups. The results showed that Fordyce methodological-behavioral happiness training reduces the burnout of faculty members of physical education departments in all its dimensions.
