Abstract
Physical activity is one of the factors affecting the motor development and social development of ‎children. The aim of this study was to compare the motor and social development of basketball ‎and normal school children. Number of 80 children 7 to 10 years old selected in a purposeful and ‎accessible way and were randomly divided into two control and experimental groups. In ‎addition, the Ulrich Gross Motor Development Tests (TGMD-3) as well as the Inland Social ‎Growth Scale for Social Growth were used to measure motor development. Klomogrove ‎Smirnov statistical methods and independent t-test were used using SPSS version 16 software ‎and at a significance level of p˂0.05. The results showed that there was a significant difference ‎between motor development, movement skills, ball skills and social development of boys and ‎girls in basketball and normal schools (p˂ 0.05). which is likely due to the influence of the basketball school as a rich environment; Boys and girls of basketball school had better performance and higher movement benefit than normal school children. Based on the findings, it is suggested that the parents and teachers of the primary centers should direct the children to the basketball school.
