Abstract
Sport Education Model (SEM) is an educational perspective for physical education, one of the main goals of which is to motivate and interest people in sport. On the other hand, Most of the Education studies in the field of motivation focus on personal (intrinsic motivation) and situational factors. It can be that intrinsic motivation is the same intrinsic pleasure and satisfaction that SEM can play effective role in the field of intrinsic motivation by using high-quality teaching and straight improvement of learners in learning and engage students in a sport activity by experiencing playing or excitement and raise their intrinsic joy. The study was conducted in quasi-experimental method and 34 students were elected from 535 General PE course students by purposive sampling categorized randomly into two groups: namely SEM (17) group and Traditional (17). Behavioral Regulation in Exercise Questionnaire (BREQ) has been used for gathering data. Also, data were analyzed using the repeated measures ANOVA method. A significant interaction has been indicated between Time and the type of training method of the intrinsic motivation index (F = 16.444, p≤.0005). According to the result, it can be stated that the SEM, by team making and selecting various roles (captain, referee), causes learners to understand the real experience, learn consistency and Collaboration with teammates and affect enhancing intrinsic motivation.
