Age- related differences on accuracy with mediation of quiet eye

Abstract
Researchers have emphasized the importance of perceptual-cognitive components and age-related differences in achieving peak performance. The purpose of this study was to test a mo del of relationship between age and dart throwing accuracy mediated by quiet eye. 100 healthy men of E sfahan city (42.04±15.87 yea r) selected based on availability sampling. The study was included 120 trials dart throwing that simultaneously measured participants gaze behavior with eye trac king system. After checking the date’s normality, given model was analyzed by structure equation modeling using AMOS-22 software. Results of structural equation mode ling indicated a go od fit of t he model and its re vealed that age has a direct and indirect effect on dart throwing accuracy. Also, the age-related differences in relationship with dart throwing accuracy mediated by quiet eye. The results of this study revealed th at quiet eye is the predictor of throwing dart accuracy.
