The effect of psychological skills training on the mental toughness of Futsal players with disability Veterans

Abstract
The purpose of the research was to investigate the role of psychological skills training on the level of mental toughness of veteran and disabled athletes. 29 veteran and disabled futsal athletes were selected and participated in the present study by means of random sampling. 14 people in the experimental group, in addition to training and routine training of futsal techniques, received training in psychological skills (target selection, relaxation and regulation of arousal, self-talk, visualization), and 15 people in the control group received only training and routine training. They received futsal.In the inferential statistics section, the Shapiro Wilk test and composite variance analysis were used and the results indicated that mental toughness in its subscales such as confidence, control and stability and the overall mental toughness score showed a significant development trend in futsalists. Veterans and disabled people have experienced. Probably, the increase in the ability of disabled and veteran athletes has caused self-awareness and, as a result, better self-regulation and self-evaluation in relation to the evaluation of their mental abilities. Choosing training goals, process and performance goals, and at the same time increasing self-confidence are considered key factors in improving people's mental toughness.Benefiting from the practice of psychological skills as a complete package, from goal selection in different types to self-talk in a motivational and educational form, and the use of arousal control techniques and mental imagery, all in increasing concentration, improving self-confidence, controlling emotions and perseverance of athletes.
